NOTICE: People who park in lot 21: when you walk through the stadium and attempt to exit, you will need to walk to the next entryway on the right as the first one is blocked off. After the meeting as you approach the stadium, you will need to go through the open entryway farther to the left, as the usual one closest to the trailer is blocked off. ENTERING JADWIN: The Jadwin loading dock entrance has been removed. You may enter through the front doors and take the elevator down to level A.

August 12, 2008 — Run Windows software on the Mac with VMWare Fusion and Parallels

Ben Britt will discuss two competing software products in the Macintosh virtualization market: VMware Fusion and Parallels, the subject of much comparison due to the similarity in features and functions. Both products allow Windows operating system programs to run on the Macintosh at the same time.

PMUG will be posting photos from meetings and events on the Website. If you have taken pictures please send them to us!

Photos should be no larger than 640 x 480 pixels. If you attach the original to the message in Apple's Mail program, and reduce it to "medium" (at the bottom right of the message), that is the size. Or you can set these dimensions directly at export from iPhoto.

Beginners SIG - 6:00 to 7:15 p.m., Room A-7
The Beginners special interest group is for those just starting out using a Macintosh. Basic Mac questions are resolved and beginners can ask more technical questions during the General Meeting Q&As.
PMUG has an iMac for beginners to learn skills or to explain problems they encounter at home. This group meets in a small room off the auditorium.
Intermediate SIG - 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Room A-9
Our monthly Intermediate SIG, a cozier Q&A session that's very popular, meets just before the general meeting in a smaller adjacent room.

The PMUG Summer Picnic was held on Saturday, July 19th from 1 - 5 p.m. at the The American Legion Post 414 off Route 206 in Lawrenceville New Jersey.
June 10, 2008 — Planning tavel on the Web and Stock Market 3D Visualization
PMUG member Joel May presented his tips, and over 80 URLs, for planning travel excursions online. Then Macintosh software developer Lyle Andrews of Princeton presented his first consumer software product, MetaView, which enables users to view stock portfolios, sectors, and entire markets in 3D.
